CMAT Colleges Eligibility
- The candidate should be an Indian Citizen.
- All the candidates must have a 3-year graduation degree or equivalent in any stream from a recognised university or institute in India.
- Candidates in their final year or final semester are also eligible for the CMAT. If they get selected, they must provide all the required documents for admission.
- Minimum 50% Marks are required for general category students, and for reserved category candidates, 45% minimum marks are required.
- There is no maximum age limit for the candidates appearing in the CMAT exam.
- Some institute have their eligibility criteria which rely on various factors such as work experience, group discussion, and personal interview.

Is CMAT held twice a year?
No, CMAT is currently held once a year. The practice of conducting the exam twice annually was discontinued after 2015.
What is the pattern of the CMAT 2026 exam?
The CMAT exam pattern typically includes five sections, with 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in each section, for a total of 100 questions. The five sections are:
- Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
- Language Comprehension
- General Awareness
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The test duration is 180 minutes (3 hours). The marking scheme awards 4 marks for every correct answer and deducts 1 mark for every incorrect answer. The maximum score possible is 400.
Is CMAT online or offline?
CMAT is an online Computer-Based Test (CBT).
How many attempts for CMAT?
There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the CMAT exam. Candidates can appear for it as many times as they wish, provided they meet the eligibility criteria each time.
How long is the CMAT score valid for?
The CMAT score is valid for one year from the date the result is declared. The score is typically valid only for admission to management programs in the academic session immediately following the exam.
